    These charitable services focus on the needs of our brothers and sisters primarily in the in the Montgomery County and DC areas. There is so much need at our doorstep.

    Alternative Christmas

    • This program seeks to reduce the commercialization of Christmas by providing a Christmas catalog of charitable gifts from local charities that may be purchased for loved ones in place of gifts from commercial merchants.

    Assumption Parish/Christmas Spirit Giving Tree (Advent)

    • Parishioners purchase Christmas gifts for Assumption Parish families, whose names and gift requests are hung on our “Spirit Giving Tree.”

    The Lord’s Table Soup Kitchen

    • Once a month, adult and teen parishioners serve a hot meal to homeless individuals at Epworth United Methodist Church, 9008 Rosemont Drive,  in Gaithersburg.

    St. Francis Refugee Fund

    • This program provides loving and critical support to newly arrived immigrants in our community including help with food, housing, medical care and other things necessary for surviving in their new country.

    St. Martin’s Food Pantry

    • Donations of non-perishable food items are collected from our parish community each week for delivery to the pantry by our St. Francis ministry volunteers. Please leave your donations in the Food Pantry box, currently on the porch of the Rectory.

    St. Vincent de Paul Society

    • The St. Vincent de Paul Society helps the parish respond to requests for assistance from those in need who come seeking help. Ongoing training and formation is provided to help members grow in a spirituality of Christ-centered service and to develop the skills needed to respond to requests. The Society has served the needs of the poor in the Archdiocese for over 155 years.
