Build Up Our Church
We serve as Jesus served - upholding the dignity of the human person, supporting the importance of the family, and meeting the needs for compassion in our world. We continually provide our parishoners with ways to support those in need with opportunities for service, both in our local community and around the world. Every parishoner is called to share their gifts with others.
All of the ministries at St. Francis of Assisi Parish exist to help parishioners find their own way to serve God and our greater church community. Whether they give of their time, talent or treasure, parishioners are asked to take an active role in two or three ministries that resonate with them. In doing so, lay members of the church can help fulfill our greater church vision and mission.
Christian Service - "The Two Feet of Love in Action"
Catholic social teaching recognizes two distinct but complementary ways we can respond to the call to put love in action: through “Charitable Works,” which meets basic needs and aids individuals and families; and through “Social Justice,” which removes the root causes of poverty and improves unjust structures. Our social ministry at St. Francis incorporates both types of outreach.
The fruit of silence is prayer; the fruit of prayer is faith; the fruit of faith is love; the fruit of love is service; the fruit of service is peace. - Mother Teresa of Calcutta
