    • Altar Servers

      • Students in grade 5 and above assist the priest at weekend Mass and are usually scheduled twice a month. Recruitment for new servers will generally occur at the beginning of the school year with announcements made at Masses and in the bulletin. Altar servers participate in a multi-week, hour-long training or until they feel comfortable with their roles. Coordinators:
      • Joan Treacy (training), 301-774-1132
      • Bob Hamilton (scheduling)

      Youth Band

      • Students in grades 6th through 12th sing and play instruments at the 5:00 pm Youth Mass each Sunday.  Practice is on Sunday 3:15-4:45 pm.

      Service Camps

      • Adults and teens serve the poor and marginalized for one week in the summer by repairing their homes. Year-long preparation and fundraising activities precede this experience. We need both adults who would like to volunteer to lead our teens in a project that can be instrumental in enhancing their Catholic faith, and teens interested in participating in an extremely worthwhile call to Christian service.

      Youth Leadership

      • High School students who have been baptized and have had a year of participation in Youth Group may apply to be a Youth Core Team Leader. The Youth Core Team is a peer ministry designed for all types of adolescents who desire to serve the church and their peer community in various leadership roles such as facilitating small groups, leading Youth Group activities, participating on ministry teams that plan social events (like movie nights, Lock-Ins, ski trips, and dances), and spiritual events (such as mission trips, service projects, and plan retreats). Core Team Leaders attend a training session at the beginning of the school year and meet weekly throughout the year for ongoing training and formation and to plan and evaluate the Youth Group program activities.  High School students that are interested in developing leadership skills should contact Fr John about joining the CORE Team.
